LYS Legal, a boutique law firm located in the heart of Paris, is seeking a Junior Commercial Counsel to join the office. With the expansion of services and client base across France and internationally, we are looking for a young legal professional with beginner expertise in commercial contracts, and a strong understanding of the French common law system.

Responsibilities

As a Commercial Counsel at LYS Legal, you will:

• Collaborate closely to provide legal guidance on various commercial initiatives.
• Draft, review commercial contracts.
• Advise on legal and regulatory matters, ensuring compliance with both French and UK laws.
• Foster and maintain strong relationships with clients, offering advice on legal risks and business opportunities.
• Provide support on matters related to technology, privacy, as they relate to commercial agreements.
• Represent the firm in negotiations and ensure all contracts align with our client-centric approach.

Requirements

To excel in this role, you should meet the following qualifications:

• Education and Certification: you are qualified in France with a masters degree in law from a recognized university.
• Legal Expertise: Beginner expertise in commercial or business law. Study or familiarity with cross-border legal framework is highly valued.
• Language Skills: Fluency in French and proficiency in English are mandatory.
• Analytical Skills: Ability to assess complex legal and business scenarios and provide practical, risk-balanced solutions.
• Communication: Verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders effectively.
• Work Ethic: Proactive, detail-oriented.
